In a pivotal match for the Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB), all-rounder Ellyse Perry demonstrated scorching form by claiming a sensational six-wicket haul in the initial innings against the Mumbai Indians (MI) during the Women’s Premier League (WPL) clash at Delhi’s Arun Jaitley Stadium.
After choosing to field upon winning the toss, RCB encountered initial difficulties in securing their first breakthrough during the powerplay. However, once the first wicket fell, the spotlight turned to Perry, who swiftly claimed two wickets in her second over.
Maintaining a consistent line aimed at the stumps and capitalizing on pitch deviations, Perry executed a successful strategy, bagging two significant wickets. In her second over, Perry’s momentum intensified as she first dismissed the opening batter, S Sajana, with a delivery that nipped back and crashed onto the stumps.
The subsequent delivery proved even more crucial as she removed MI’s skipper, Harmanpreet Kaur, with a similar length delivery, inducing an inside edge onto the stumps.
Perry’s exceptional bowling display continued unabated as she clinched two more wickets in her next over. Dismissing Amelia Kerr with a delivery that struck the pads for LBW, Perry further rattled MI by dismissing Amanjot Kaur, who misjudged a backfoot shot and was bowled.
Her brilliance with the ball reached its pinnacle in the final over when she clean-bowled Pooja Vastrakar and trapped Nat Sciver-Brunt leg before wicket, securing her sixth wicket of the innings.

A victory in this match would propel the team into a top-three finish and offer them a shot at the title in the playoffs.
