A minor fire broke out on Monday at a luxury hotel in Hyderabad’s upscale Banjara Hills area, where members of the Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) team were staying, according to fire and police officials. Fortunately, no injuries were reported, and the blaze was brought under control swiftly.
The fire reportedly began in the steam room of the hotel’s spa on the first floor, likely due to a short circuit, causing smoke to spread from the area. No one was inside the spa when the incident occurred. Officials confirmed that some SRH players were staying in a different tower of the hotel and were not present during the incident. Others who were at the property later checked out safely.

Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) kicked off their IPL 2025 campaign on a high note with a convincing 44-run win over the Rajasthan Royals at the Rajiv Gandhi International Stadium. However, their momentum soon faltered as they suffered a string of defeats. They lost to Lucknow Super Giants by 5 wickets at the same venue, followed by a 7-wicket defeat at the hands of Delhi Capitals in Visakhapatnam. The slump continued with a heavy 80-run loss against Kolkata Knight Riders at Eden Gardens and then a 7-wicket defeat by Gujarat Titans back in Hyderabad.
Despite the rough patch, SRH bounced back strongly with a dominating 8-wicket win over Punjab Kings at home, showing signs of resurgence. Their next challenge is against the Mumbai Indians at Wankhede Stadium. With mixed performances so far, SRH will be eager to build on their recent win and regain consistency as the tournament progresses.
