In the  Chennai Super Kings (CSK) vs Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) IPL 2025 game, Kamindu Mendis was in the limelight with a shocking catch that tilted the game in their favor. The game was hosted at the MA Chidambaram Stadium, and CSK was dominating at 115/4. Dewald Brevis was playing aggressively and seemed destined to take his team to a massive score.

In the 13th over of the innings, Harshal Patel bowled a ball outside the off stump. Brevis timed it to perfection and targeted a boundary towards long-off. But Kamindu Mendis, with lightning-fast reaction and athletic excellence, rushed to his left and dived full length to catch the ball just as it was about to touch the ground.

The stadium was shocked into silence. The audience was left speechless by what they had just seen. That was not only the end of Brevis' firecracker innings of 42 runs on 24 balls but also the advantage to SRH. Mendis' fielding abilities were universally appreciated, and many referred to it as one of the top catches of the season.

SRH won their third game after defeating CSK

Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) comfortably won by 5 wickets against Chennai Super Kings (CSK) in Match 45 of IPL 2025. CSK batted first but were restricted to just 154, with Dewald Brevis (42) and Ayush Mhatre (30) the only two making any contributions. Harshal Patel took 4 wickets while Pat Cummins bowled economically, and CSK's batting and their lack of a competitive total were subpar.

SRH chased down the 155 target easily in 18.4 overs, with Ishan Kishan scoring 44 and Kamindu Mendis 32 not out. CSK started smartly with Khaleel Ahmed taking an early wicket with two from Noor Ahmad, then it was all STRH from there. Now CSK batting failures and poor fielding performances have really added pressure to make the playoffs from now on!
