Punjab Kings entered the ongoing match following a disappointing eight-wicket defeat against Sunrisers Hyderabad. In that clash, held at the Rajiv Gandhi International Stadium on Saturday, April 12, SRH chased down a massive 246-run target with ease, securing the win with eight wickets in hand and nine balls to spare. Talking about PBKS vs KKR, the incident that caught attention was from Ramandeep Singh. The KKR all-rounder delivered one of the most memorable moments of Match 31 in IPL 2025 with a sensational full-length dive that dismissed Shreyas Iyer just two balls into his innings. The Punjab Kings (PBKS) and Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) clash on April 15 witnessed the former KKR captain walking back for a two-ball duck, thanks to Ramandeep’s sharp reflexes on the field.
The dismissal came off a short and wide delivery from Harshit Rana, which Iyer tried to slash. However, he failed to keep it down and directed it toward Ramandeep, who was stationed at a slightly squarish third-man position. Although the ball didn’t reach him on the full, Ramandeep rushed in from the boundary and executed a brilliant low catch, drawing applause from teammates and fans alike.

Interestingly, this was Harshit Rana’s second wicket in quick succession. Just two balls earlier, he had removed Priyansh Arya with what looked like another non-threatening delivery. Earlier in the evening, Shreyas Iyer, leading PBKS, had won the toss and opted to bat first. Despite the early dismissal, PBKS hoped to set a challenging target for the opposition.

Punjab Kings endured a batting collapse in Match 31 of IPL 2025, getting bowled out for just 111 runs in 15.3 overs against Kolkata Knight Riders. The innings began with promise as opener Prabhsimran Singh smashed 30 off 15 balls at a blistering strike rate of 200, while Priyansh Arya added a quick 22. However, once Harshit Rana removed both Arya and Prabhsimran, the momentum shifted drastically. Rana also dismissed skipper Shreyas Iyer for a duck, triggering a dramatic top-order collapse. Josh Inglis and Glenn Maxwell failed to anchor the innings, scoring just 2 and 7 runs respectively.
None of the middle-order batters managed to stabilize the innings, with only Nehal Wadhera (10) and Shashank Singh (18) reaching double digits. Sunil Narine and Varun Chakaravarthy delivered tight spells, taking two wickets each and choking the run flow. Vaibhav Arora and Anrich Nortje also played their part, while Bartlett’s run-out ended the innings. Punjab’s innings never recovered from the early blows, as they lost all 10 wickets inside 16 overs. The collapse left KKR with a modest target, highlighting Punjab's struggle to build partnerships and counter Kolkata’s disciplined bowling unit.
