Batting first Sri Lanka scored 344 for the loss of 9 wickets. Pakistan completed a brilliant chase to win the match by 6 wickets. With four points Pakistan are now standing in second place just behind New Zealand. The Kiwis have the same points with a better Net Run Rate.

Kusal Mendis and Sadeera Samarawickrama scored 122 and 108 runs respectively to set a target of 345 for Pakistan. Pathum Nissanka scored 51 to give a good base. Hasan Ali scalped 4 wickets conceding 71 runs. During the chase, Pakistan lost two quick wickets in Imam-ul-Haq and Babar Azam but then Abdullah Shafique found ally in Mohammad Rizwan. Both completed individual centuries; Shafique added 113 runs while Rizwan remained unbeaten on 131.
