However, Pakistan rebounded with a victory over Canada. Despite this, they still face a significant challenge in the coming days, made even more difficult by the unpredictable weather conditions in Lauderhill, Florida, where the most crucial Group A games will be held.

“A weather system has brought excessive rain to South Florida yesterday (Tuesday) and today, with the downpour likely to continue through Friday. The City of Lauderhill has crews working in key areas to help minimize flooding,” according to a press note on the official website of the City of Lauderhill.

As reported by The Associated Press, Wednesday’s heavy rain and resulting floods caused road blockages, submerged vehicles, and delayed the Florida Panthers en route to Stanley Cup games in Canada against the Edmonton Oilers… Numerous roads were submerged, rendering them impassable for vehicles.

Along the major artery Interstate 95 in Broward County, southbound traffic was redirected to avoid a flooded section, while contractors were dispatched to pump the drainage system.The National Weather Service has issued a Flood Watch for all of South Florida, effective through Friday evening.

How could the rainfall in Florida effect Pakistan’s chances?

Since USA lost to India with 10 balls to spare, net run rates won’t be a determining factor for the second-placed team in Group A (where India has already secured the top spot). Pakistan currently holds a higher net run rate than USA (Pakistan: 0.191, USA: 0.127). Pakistan can secure qualification by defeating Ireland and observing USA’s loss to them.
