Every Indian Premier League (IPL) fan is waiting for the complete schedule of the IPL 2025. It is likely to be announced this week.

IPL 2025 will be the 18th edition of the tournament, while its opener and Final dates have already been announced as these matches will be played on March 21 and May 25, respectively. Eden Gardens in Kolkata will host both of these matches along with Qualifier 2 and the other remaining six league stage matches in the tournament. 

According to several media reports, the complete schedule for the IPL 2025 will be announced very soon, most likely this week. 

IPL 2025: KKR will play as defending champions

After the two-day mega auctions, ten teams will participate in the IPL 2025, where a total of 74 matches will be played, including the Playoffs. The participating teams are as usual Chennai Super Kings, Mumbai Indians, Kolkata Knight Riders, Rajasthan Royals, SunRisers Hyderabad, Gujarat Titans, Royal Challengers Bengaluru, Punjab Kings, Delhi Capitals, and Lucknow Super Giants. 

Three-time IPL champions Kolkata Knight Riders will defend the IPL 2025 title. They won the IPL 2024 trophy after beating the IPL 2016 champions SunRisers Hyderabad in the Final. 

Mumbai Indians and Chennai Super Kings hold the record for most IPL titles with five each. Other IPL trophy winners are Rajasthan Royals, now-defunct Deccan Chargers, Sunrisers Hyderabad, and Gujarat Titans, as all of these teams have won once each.

IPL 2025 will run after WPL 2025

IPL 2025 will be played after the completion of the Women’s Premier League 2025. The WPL 2025, the third edition of the tournament, will run between February 14 and March 15, 2025, where the five participating teams will play a total of 22 games, including the Playoffs. The WPL 2025 complete schedule has already been released.
