One of the most contentious decisions made by the selectors is the exclusion of Rinku Singh, who was widely regarded as India’s primary finisher leading up to the IPL 2024. His absence from the squad has left fans perplexed and disappointed, sparking heated debates across social media platforms.
Since Rinku made his T20I debut, Rinku has been exceptional as a finisher for Team India, amassing 356 runs at a blistering strike rate of 176.24. He has capitalized on whatever chances he has got, which is why his exclusion surprised fans and experts.ย
Rinku Singh was named among the four reserve players along with Shubman Gill, and fast bowlers Khaleel Ahmed and Avesh Khan.
India begin their 2024 T20 World Cup campaign against Ireland on June 5 in New York, and then play Pakistan, USA and Canada on June 9, 12 and 15.
Fans have expressed their frustration and disbelief over Rinku Singh’s omission from the squad, with many labeling it as a baffling and shortsighted move by the selectors.
