Players typically perform well in the Women's Premier League (WPL) and subsequently get selected for the national team.

However, in the career of the 20-year-old, Priya Mishra it is just the opposite.

Even before she made her WPL debut for Gujarat Giants, the 20-year-old and played total of 9 ODIs, with 15 wickets, proving her worth. The leg spinner was rushed into the national team on the strength of her impressive performance against Australia A, where she claimed 5/14.

Made the side GG worth for her bowling style in her WPL debut ina style.

A turning point to see in the match:

The turning point arrived in the 10th over when Deandra Dottin delivered a short of a length ball outside off. Uma Chetry, in confident touch with 24 off 27 balls, tried a pull but was unable to time it properly. The ball sailed straight into the hands of Priya Mishra at mid-on, who made an amazing low catch.

But it was Mishra's confrontational celebration that seized the spotlight. As soon as she finished making the catch, she raised her finger at Chetry in a vengeful show of ferocity. The action instantly became the subject of hot debate as Gujarat Giants grasped their match more firmly.

Movement in the match by Mishra :

Warriorz were 73 for 3 after 10 overs, and with McGrath and Grace Harris still to come, they would have expected a take-off. But Mishra delivered a big blow by dismissing both the Australians in the space of three balls. For McGrath, she bowled a googly which skidded on in line of middle and off and scraped past the inside edge of the batter and hit the pad first and then off the bat and onto the pads. McGrath challenged the lbw decision but it was overturned.

A ball later, Mishra bowled another googly, a flighted delivery on off, and Harris attempted a big slog down the line only to be left behind on the inside edge as the ball crunched onto the stumps. Mishra erupted in a triumphant roar after delivering a statement performance.
