Instead of showcasing a game-changing era of Pakistan cricket, the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) has hugely disappointed with their preparation for the ICC Champions Trophy 2025. Cricket fans are laughing and joking on the PCB's poor preparation, which has been revealed due to rain, and it created a new laughing chapter during the Afghanistan vs Australia fixture.
ICC Champions Trophy 2025 is Pakistan's first ICC tournament since the ODI World Cup 1996. It is a very crucial moment for the PCB, while six out of seven foreign teams travelled to Pakistan by putting huge faith in the PCB. Only India haven't travelled to Pakistan, citing security issues, as they have played all the matches of the tournament at the Dubai International Cricket Stadium in Dubai in the United Arab Emirates.

National Stadium in Karachi, Gadaffi Stadium in Lahore, and Rawalpindi Cricket Stadium in Rawalpindi have been prepared for the ICC Champions Trophy 2025. The PCB's planning to reconstruct the stadiums didn't go well as the timeline moved further than expectations, while the security breaches have continuously raised concerns to host an important international tournament in the country. Even during the ICC Champions Trophy 2025, the country has faced many terrorist attacks along with threats for the tournament by kidnapping foreigners.
Meanwhile, rain has made the situation more ugly for the PCB. Two out of three fixtures in the Rawalpindi Cricket Stadium couldn't see the toss, while the ground wasn't covered properly, and also did not have a proper drainage system. The poor rain handling made the game impossible even if the rain finished earlier.
The crucial Group B match, Afghanistan vs Australia at Gaddafi Stadium in Lahore, also experienced a similar situation on Friday evening (February 28). While Australia were chasing the 274-run target and fired up with 109/1 in 12.5 overs, the rain spoiled that chase. While it was a horrible rain, there was no chance to restart the game due to poor venue handling during the rain. After watching the post-rain situations on the ground, the cricket fans are joking as well as angry with the system set by the PCB.
