Currently ranked as the top Test all-rounder by the ICC, Ravindra Jadeja sustained a hamstring injury during the first Test against England in Hyderabad. Consequently, he missed the second Test and faces a significant period of recovery. Sharing a photo from the NCA in Bengaluru, where he is attending to his injury, the likelihood of his return for IPL 2024 appears slim, with speculation mounting that he might also miss the ICC T20 World Cup 2024.

Jadeja’s injury occurred on the fourth day of the first Test in Hyderabad, leading to his absence for the remainder of the series, which India lost by 28 runs. Despite his absence, India staged a remarkable comeback in the second Test, defeating England by 106 runs. Jasprit Bumrah’s stellar performance earned him the Player of the Match award with match figures of 9/91. Notably, India managed well without the services of Ravindra Jadeja and KL Rahul, who was also ruled out of the second Test due to a right quadriceps issue. However, Rahul’s injury is not severe, and he is expected to return for the third Test of the series.

The timing of Jadeja’s comeback to cricket remains uncertain, contingent upon the extent of his recovery. Rushing back onto the field without adequate rehabilitation poses the risk of exacerbating the injury and jeopardizing his career.

On his Instagram account, Ravindra Jadeja posted an image of himself tending to his injury at the National Cricket Academy (NCA) in Bengaluru, accompanied by the caption “Getting better🤞.” Fans across the nation and beyond are sending their well-wishes for his speedy recovery, eagerly anticipating his return to the field.

Ravindra Jadeja Shares a Photo of His Recovery Process After Sustaining Injury in the First Test

Currently ranked as the top Test all-rounder by the ICC, Ravindra Jadeja showcased exceptional performance in the first Test, claiming five wickets and scoring 87 runs in the first innings. However, his unfortunate run-out in the second innings contributed to India’s loss and resulted in an injury during the run.

India and England are locked in a five-match Test series, presently leveled at 1-1 following victories from both teams. The hosts suffered a defeat in the first Test in Hyderabad but bounced back strongly to secure a convincing 106-run win in the second Test in Vizag. Notably, India has maintained an undefeated streak in Test series at home since their loss against England in 2012, when they were defeated 2-1 in the four-match series led by Sir Alastair Cook.

Since the 2012 loss to England, India has triumphed in 16 consecutive series and aims to sustain this unbeaten streak by prevailing over the formidable England side in the ongoing series.
