Gujarat Giants and RCB Women go head to head in match 13 of WPL 2024 in New Delhi on March 6. The match starts at 7.30 pm IST and this is the first game for both sides in the Delhi leg of the tournament.

RCB defeated the Giants by 8 wickets in their previous meeting in Bengaluru. The hosts chased down a paltry total of 108 inside 13 overs. Smriti Mandhana leads RCB while Beth Mooney leads the Giants.

Mooney who joined as the skipper this season has failed to change the fortunes of the franchise. So far the Giants are yet to win a game and they have lost all four games from the Bengaluru leg.

They lost their previous game against Delhi Capitals where they failed to chase 164. After being asked to set targets in the first three games, Gujara preferred chasing in their last game and failed at that as well.

The Mithali Raj-led Gujarat management has been struggling to find answers behind the failure of the players to perform. The whole squad looks like a tired unit with none of their batters or bowlers looking in form. They have failed to play together as a unit and put in the clinical performances that are required to win games. Gujarat Giants won the toss opt to bat.

Women’s Premier League: Who said what at the toss?

Smriti Mandhana | RCB Captain: Would’ve fielded first anyway. Looks like a good wicket to bat on. Hectic last 2-3 days, last win was really nice in front of the home crowd. Travel days are always good with this bunch. We’re all ready to go. No changes.

Beth Mooney | GG Captain: We’re going to have a bat. We’re trying to be nice and brave, nice and positive. Do something different and try and see if we can shake things up. The wicket looks like it kept a little low last night, we’ll see what it does in the 2nd innings, probably not as much dew as well. We’ve got one change.
