In their second match of the ICC Women's T20 World Cup 2024, India Women showcased an impressive bowling performance, restricting Pakistan Women to a mere 105 runs for the loss of eight wickets in 20 overs. This comprehensive victory not only solidified India’s position in the tournament but also demonstrated their dominance in the field.
Arundhati Reddy shines with three wickets
Arundhati Reddy was the standout performer for India, claiming three crucial wickets for just 19 runs. Her exceptional bowling dismantled the Pakistan batting lineup, as she dismissed key players, including Omaima Sohail (3), Muneeba Ali (17), and Nida Dar (28). Reddy's tight line and length kept the opposition batters under constant pressure, contributing significantly to India’s success in the match.
Shreyanka Patil supports with two key wickets
Alongside Reddy, Shreyanka Patil also delivered an outstanding performance, picking up two wickets for only 12 runs. Her impressive spell helped maintain the pressure on Pakistan, as she consistently targeted the stumps and forced the batters into making mistakes. Patil’s contributions in the bowling department were pivotal in restricting Pakistan's scoring opportunities and ensuring a comfortable win for the Indian side.

Pakistan's Nida Dar fights a lone battle
Despite the overwhelming pressure from Indian bowlers, Nida Dar managed to provide some resistance, scoring a valuable 28 runs off 34 balls. Unfortunately, she lacked adequate support from her teammates, as Pakistan struggled to build substantial partnerships throughout their innings. Captain Fatima Sana added 13 runs, but the batting lineup faltered against a disciplined Indian bowling attack.
In the end, Pakistan Women could only muster 105 runs, with Arundhati Reddy and Shreyanka Patil being the key architects of India’s victory.
