Veteran player Ellyse Perry joked that she was a bit worried after smashing the window of the car on the sidelines during the Royal Challengers Bangalore’s final Bangalore leg match against UP Warriorz at the Chinnaswamy stadium in Bengaluru on March 4.
However, Perry hit a massive six during her 37-ball 58 and the ball went directly into the window of the Tata Punch EV, which was placed by the sponsors, near the boundary line as well. She also spoke to the broadcasters after the match and joked that she didn’t have any insurance to cover for the damage.
“I was bit a worried. I donβt have any insurance here (laughs),β said Ellyse Perry.
However, Ellyse Perry’s knock along with Smriti Mandhana’s 80 helped RCB return to winning ways as they registered the victory by 23 runs on Monday. The RCB star first thanked the support in Bengaluru as the crowd turned up in big numbers. Perry also said her first role was to support Smriti Mandhana and was happy to get a few hits out of the middle as well.

βLook, all games that have been played here have been amazing. Itβs great that the crowd has come out in numbers and supported. Itβs great to have that kind of support and we are very lucky. I have played a lot of cricket in the last few months. It works some days and doesnβt. Smriti was hitting very well and my role was to support here. After her dismissal, it was good to hit some off the middle of the bat,” said Ellyse Perry.
Ellyse Perry also said that RCB are happy with their fielding. However, with the win in their final home game, RCB reached the third spot in the points table.
“We pride ourselves on our fielding. Itβs about getting the right fielders in the right spots. It becomes when there are right-handed and left-handed batters. It was great from the girls,” said Perry.
