After the mind-blowing two-day mega auction for the IPL 2025, the Women’s Premier League 2025 (WPL 2025) mini auction date has been revealed. 

The WPL 2025 extended retention deadline was November 7. A total of 25 players were released by five teams. Before the retention deadline, English cricketer Danni Wyatt-Hodge was traded from UP Warriorz to Royal Challengers Bengaluru. It was the only trade ahead of the WPL 2025 mini-auction.

WPL 2025: Mini-auction date

Now, we will experience the WPL 2025 mini-auction on December 15. Bengaluru will host the WPL 2025 mini-auction. For the WPL 2025 mini-auction, each team has INR 15 crore purse, INR 1.5 crore more than the WPL 2024 (INR 13.5 crore).

West Indies legend Deandra Dottin, English captain Heather Knight, and New Zealand legend Lea Tahuhu are some of the top names who will go on the bidding war in the forthcoming mini-auction. Talking about the key Indian names, we can see Sneh Rana, Poonam Yadav, Veda Krishnamurthy, etc.

Teams have the remaining purses in the range between INR 4.40 crores and INR 2.50 crores. While Gujarat Giants have INR 4.40 crore for the mini-auction, UP Warriorz will start the mini-auction with INR 3.90 crore. Royal Challengers Bengaluru, Mumbai Indians, and Delhi Capitals have remaining purses of INR 3.25 crore, INR 2.65 crore, and INR 2.50 crore, respectively. 

WPL 2025 timeline

WPL 2025 will be the third edition of the Women's Premier League. Mumbai Indians won the inaugural edition in 2023, while Royal Challengers Bengaluru won the WPL 2024 and will play in the next edition as the defending champions. Delhi Capitals reached the first two WPL finals but lost both and finished as the runners-up in both editions. 

WPL 2025 will be played between February and March 2025. While Mumbai hosted the entire WPL 2023, Bengaluru and New Delhi hosted the WPL 2024. The new venues for the WPL will be introduced slowly. Although WPL 2025 will run between February and March, it will run between January and February 2026, according to the new Future Tour Programme cycle (2025-2029).
