Wriddhiman Saha waves off silent bye to cricket

Wriddhiman Saha has decided to hang his boots from competitive cricket, where he has announced his silent retirement by his X post.

Wriddhiman Saha the starwalt wicket keeper waving his silent bye from all formats of cricket. The 40 year old has announced this in his recent X post which he quotes " One last practice session of my carrer before my final game of Ranji. 

Saha made his Ranji debut in 2007 -08 against Hyderabad where he scored a brilliant century on his debut which sparked the news of his arrival. Saha has fantastic domestic career where he had scored above 6000 runs which sets the epitome of his batting. Along with his batting Saha has been a excellent wicket keeper whose glove work has been really exceptional.

Saha International Career

 Saha test career begun in 2010 where he was picked as reserve for Dinesh Karthik. He played total 40 test matches for India scoring 1353 runs. Which includes 3 centuries and 6 half centuries. He made his odi debut in 2010 against New Zealand. 

 He has played total 9 Odi matches for India where he couldn't able to shine well where he has the highest score of 41 only. Saha have majorly been In and Out for Indian team. He is been really satisfied that he had played for India giving his significant contributions.

IPL Career

Saha started his IPL career with Kolkata Night Riders where he played 3 seasons for them. Then he was picked by Chennai Super Kings in 2011 as a reserve wicket keeper for Ms Dhoni. He also played 2 seasons with them. Saha IPL peaked where he was bought by kings xi Punjab. He gave his best for the team where he scored 362 runs in that season. He was the first player who scored a century in IPL final. Then Saha was bought by Sunrises Hyderabad in 2019 and Gujarat Titans in 2022 where his signif contribution led to the title winning for respective teams. 

No Regrets

 As Saha plays his last outing there were many wishes from former players. It was asked whether he has any regrets where he was not given enough chances to play for team India. He says that he has enjoyed his cricket career very well and he has no regrets that his career has not been progloned or not getting enough chances. He is happy with what he had. Asking for what's next, He said he will be will be starting his second innings soon as coach. But for now he will be spending time with his family.
