On the last day of the Boxing Day match at the MCG, cricket lovers saw something exceptionally wonderful when Mitchell Starc, from Australia, and Yashasvi Jaiswal, from India, started telling funny stories to each other. This funny discussion showed how much India and Australia try to outdo each other but also proved how calm and sure of himself the new Indian player was.
During the second session of the day, Starc, trying to unsettle Jaiswal, swapped the bails at the non-striker's end while walking back to his bowling mark. Jaiswal, unfazed, casually reversed the bails to their original position.

Starc: "Do you believe in superstition?"
Jaiswal (smiling): "I just believe in myself; that's why I am here."
Starc (probing further): "Why'd you change it back for, if you're not superstitious?"
Jaiswal: "I'm just enjoying this moment in my life."
The conversation, light-hearted yet competitive, showcased Jaiswal's ability to maintain his focus and sense of humor under pressure.

India needed a very big score of 340 runs to not lose the match--but it was very hard. After 63 overs, they hadn't managed to score more than 130 runs, and they had lost 5 wickets already. Jaiswal was still batting, putting up a hard fight with his 76 not out. Earlier, he and Rishabh Pant had tried to change the situation for the better by adding 88 runs together, especially after the team lost some players very soon.
Starting with their face-off in the Perth Test, Starc and Jaiswal already had a strong dislike for each other. Jaiswal criticized Starc, explaining that his throws were not fast the next time they met, at the Adelaide Test, Starc responded by getting Jaiswal out, who got out without obtaining a single run; their tension on the field increased even more after that.
