Salary of all the 10 Captains in IPL 2024:-

1. Pat Cummins – Sunrisers Hyderabad: ₹20.5 crores

Pat Cummins, renowned for his exceptional performance in international cricket, assumed the captaincy of Sunrisers Hyderabad, making him the highest-paid captain in IPL 2024. The franchise, owned by Kalanithi Maran of the SUN Group, invested a substantial ₹20.50 crores to secure Cummins’ leadership. His performance as Captain was not as expected, but his team is at 5 positions with 4 points, and he now has 5 wickets as a bowler.

2. KL Rahul – Lucknow Super Giants: ₹17 crores

KL Rahul’s return to leading Lucknow Super Giants after recovering from injury garnered attention. Despite setbacks, Rahul’s leadership skills and batting prowess earned him a salary of ₹17 crores, reflecting the franchise’s confidence in his ability to steer the team to success. For now, LSG have played 4 matches and won 3 matches. However, Rahul’s performance is not as good as expected; he has scored 126 runs in 4 matches.

3. Rishabh Pant – Delhi Capitals: ₹16 crores

Delhi Capitals welcomed back star wicketkeeper-batter Rishabh Pant, whose return after a near-fatal accident injected renewed optimism into the team. 7. Shikhar Dhawan – Punjab Kings: ₹8.25 crores

Shikhar Dhawan’s captaincy stint with Punjab Kings highlighted his extensive IPL experience. Throughout his IPL career, Dhawan has represented four franchises before transitioning to Punjab Kings ahead of IPL 2022. But the poor form of RCB is still going on this season; they have played 5 matches and only won one of them. RCB is standing in 9th place with just two points.

10. Ruturaj Gaikwad – Chennai Super Kings: 6 Crores

After Mahendra Singh Dhoni gave up the captaincy of the Chennai Super Kings, the reins of the franchise are now with Ruturaj Gaikwad, who is named as the new captain. Gaikwad became the fourth captain to take charge of CSK. Before this, apart from Dhoni, Ravindra Jadeja and Suresh Raina took command of the team. Gaikwad was retained by Chennai in the year 2022 for Rs 6 crore. Ruturaj has had an inconsistent start in the four outings with no half-century. This year, the opener’s strike rate has dipped alarmingly to 118.91 from 147.5 in 2023. He hasn’t performed as expected and just added 88 runs in four matches, while CSK is standing in fourth position with 4 points in 4 matches.
