Men's:

India vs England (August 15-18, 1936; The Oval)

The India vs England Test series was the third Test, which took place at the Oval in England. It was played four years after India's Test debut in 1932, and Wally Hammond's double century led England's first innings total of 471-8.

Lauri Fishlock scored a century and performed an excellent supporting role to Hammond. Despite a promising start, India was bowled out for 222. England forced a follow-on, and CK Nayudu's 81 helped India reach 313; nonetheless, India's lead was just 64 as the last wicket fell.

India vs England (August 14-19, 1952; The Oval)

India visited England in 1952. The third Test match between England and India was played at The Oval in London from August 14th to 19, 1952. India, which had already lost the first two Tests, performed even worse on the last day. England batted first and scored 326 runs, with David Sheppard scoring a century and Len Hutton contributing 86.

In response, India were at 49 for 6 when rain stopped play, but they resumed on the final day and were bowled out for 98, resulting in a tie. This was India's first Test match after independence.

India vs Sri Lanka (August 14-17, 2001; Galle)

This was India's opening match on their 2001 tour of Sri Lanka. India scored only 187 in the first innings, with Dilhara Fernando picking up five wickets.

In the hosts first innings, Sri Lanka scored 362 runs, with Sanath Jayasuriya and Kumar Sangakkara scoring centuries. India scored 180 in the second innings, setting the hosts a target of just six runs.

India vs England (August 15-19, 2014; The Oval)

This match was the final Test of the five-match test series, with England displaying its dominance by winning two games out of the four tests. Though the visitors had a chance to level the series after their second match, they got whitewashed in the final clash.

With India batting first, they got ousted for a mere 148 runs, and the English side responded with a score of 486. They, again, got the hosts all out for a mere 94 runs, with England sealing the final test win by an innings and 244 runs. Joe Root was awarded the Player of the Match.

India vs Sri Lanka (August 12-16, 2015; Galle)

On the grounds of Galle, it was the first match of the three-match test series. Sri Lanka won the toss and chose to bat, where they had a mediocre start by getting all-out for 183. With India making 375 runs in the second innings, Sri Lanka made a robust comeback with 367 runs, giving them an easy target of 176.

But the Lankan side had other plans and surprised the side with its top bowling, getting them all out for 112 runs. With that, Sri Lanka won the match by 63 runs, and Dinesh Chandimal was awarded the Player of the Match for his stellar batting display.

India vs England (August 12-16, 2021; Lord's)

Played amidst the period of India's independence date, this test match has been a historic one for the Indian red-ball team. Amidst the intense crowd and testing conditions of Lord's, India was given to bat first and gave a flying start with KL Rahul's century and made 364 runs. Though England had an upper lead by scoring 391 runs in the second innings, a surprise batting cameo by Mohammed Shami and Jasprit Bumrah helped build a robust batting score and gave them a formidable target of 272 runs.

As it suggests, with the leading passion and aggressive mindset of Virat Kohli, India got England bamboozled by getting them all out for 120 runs. This made them win the match by a massive 151 runs, helping them scalp a historic win at the prestigious Lord's.
