WPL 2024 Points Table: Updated after Match 11 between RCB W and UP W - Cricket Winner

Royal Challengers Bangalore ended their home matches on a triumphant note, clinching a commanding 23-run victory against UP Warriorz in their rematch. Despite their narrow 2-run win in the initial encounter, RCB’s dominance on Monday, March 4, stole the spotlight.

The duo of Smriti Mandhana and Ellyse Perry emerged as pivotal figures, forging an impressive 96-run partnership in the opening innings. By setting a challenging target of 199 runs against Alyssa Healy’s squad, RCB showcased their bowling prowess, overcoming an early onslaught to seal the victory.

RCB’s Dominant Display: A Triumph at Home Against UP Warriorz

UP Warriorz showed promise in their chase, maintaining a competitive run rate during the powerplay overs. Alyssa Healy and Kiran Navgire formed a strong opening pair, but the momentum shifted when Chamari Athapaththu faced controversy with a DRS decision in the 7th over. This incident proved to be a turning point, leading to UP’s downfall and eventual defeat.

Among the bowlers, Asha Sobhana (2/29) stood out for RCB, supported by two wickets each from Sophie Devine and Georgia Wareham, despite conceding runs.

RCB’s batting prowess in the first innings was spearheaded by a strategic alteration in their opening combination. Sabbhineni Meghana’s aggressive start, contributing 28 off 21 deliveries, set the stage for a relentless onslaught by Smriti Mandhana and Ellyse Perry, who amassed 95 runs off 64 balls.
