CSK vs LSG: MS Dhoni and Chennai Super Kings return to Chepauk. Their team though looks concerning with the batting line-up not instilling much confidence after a poor start in the first game. Barring Gaikwad, nobody really got going which will be a huge worry. Their bowling attack is all the more concerning. While Hangargekar did a decent job, extras and lack of wicket taking options proved to be a concern.
Lucknow on the other hand looked more in command during their game with Mark Wood blowing the Delhi Capitals away. With Quinton De Kock coming back, LSG are going to have some more headaches considering Kyle Mayers form in the previous game.
Date: April 3rd 2023
Time: 7:30 PM IST
Venue: Chennai
A humid evening with some dew is likely with the temperatures rising at Chennai.
The Chepauk track turned well once the ball got older in the ODI series, and that could be an indicator of the pitch behaving as it normally does, with the ball taking considerable spin, making it tougher to bat on once the innings progresses. Batting second remains a better option though with dew a factor.

Ruturaj Gaikwad
Gaikwad has a terrible habit of starting tournaments slowly. His returns in the first four to five games are normally poor, and with the ball swinging he tends to struggle all the more. Given CSK’s struggles last season, Gaikwad will have to step up early given the value he provides to the batting line-up, and his success against spin bowlers.
Mark Wood
Mark Wood, despite having to play on a slower track will still be a handful. He has proved that pace works anywhere with his performance on a dryish Lucknow track, and with a number of CSK’s batters weaker against pace, he will have a fun day.

Ravindra Jadeja vs KL Rahul: Two stalwarts in the IPL and the Indian Team face off. KL Rahul is yet to be dismissed by Ravindra Jadeja, but Jadeja too has not let Rahul get away against him with 48 runs conceded off 42 balls.
Despite playing in Chennai, LSG could back themselves with a superior bowling line-up, and with CSK showing concerning signs with both bat and ball.
