The El Classico is back as the Mumbai Indians take on the Chennai Super Kings in Chennai. Both sides look pretty dangerous now as compared to the start of the tournament when both came in after horrible seasons in 2022.
Date: May 6th 2023
Time: 3:30 PM IST
Venue: Chennai
Given it is a day game a very warm start is expected.
The pitch is likely to take some turn and with the heat in Chennai batting first will be a better option.

Ruturaj Gaikwad
Gaikwad has a terrible habit of starting tournaments slowly. His returns in the first four to five games are normally poor, and with the ball swinging he tends to struggle all the more. Given CSK’s struggles last season, Gaikwad will have to step up early given the value he provides to the batting line-up, and his success against spin bowlers.
Rohit Sharma
A flat track and struggling bowling attack ahead leaves Rohit Sharma with a great chance of making an impact and reminding his worth as a batter in the IPL. He has the shots, his international form has been decent, and he will be waiting to play a good innings in a tournament which has not seen his impact in a while.

Although it is Chennai’s fortress, Mumbai has been a side that has never bothered. They have a better record than Chennai in Chepauk, and that could play a factor as Mumbai look to get another win on the board.
