The first encounter of today occurred between two kings. Mahendra Singh Dhoni, the captain of Chennai, won the toss and elected to bat first in this CSK vs. PBKS game of IPL 2023. The only reason they wanted to bat first was to benefit from playing at home. And this decision also favors them.
After choosing batting first CSK openers played in their manner. Copy-book shots seen from classic Ruturaj Gaikwad’s bat. On the other hand kiwi batter, Devon Conway played his own attacking game. By his game, Conway looked in his fine form. These two batters of Chennai added 86 runs for the first wicket. Conway Scored 92 runs in 52 balls. This not-out inning set a big score for the Punjab Kings. By hitting 16 extravagant fours and one six he ended his inning.
After scoring extensive 86 runs for the first wicket partnership Ruturaj got out by scoring 37 runs in just 31 balls. But when he got out CSK’s explosive all-rounder Shivam Dube came to play his own natural game. Dube dispatched the balls from the ground. He plays a few big hits. And the set stage for the upcoming batters.
After Dube got out by scoring 28 runs in 17 balls, Mooen Ali, & Ravindra Jadeja came and went by playing some shots. At last, the big show Chennai skipper of CSK came to bat for the last few balls. He just plays three-ball. Among those three balls, he dispatched two of them into the stand. Spectators came to stadiums all over the world to see those big hits.
For Punjab Kings, their bowlers did their job. All the bowlers bowled their best, Kagiso Rabada being one of them. But he was attacked at the wrong time by CSK batters. Rahul Chahar bowled decent overs, and keep calm the CSK batters in his overs.
They only took four of CSK Batter’s wickets in 20 overs. Today Sam Curran leaked lots of runs to the opponent. He gave 46 runs in his four-over spells and takes only one wicket. Arshdeep, Rabada, Rahul Chahar, and Raza all leaked 30+ runs in their respective overs.
