Chennai Super Kings will travel to Delhi as they face Delhi Capitals for the second time in their last league outing in match number 67 of Indian Premier League 2023 at Arun Jaitley Stadium on 20th May 2023.
Chennai Super Kings will be coming into the contest on the back of a six-wicket loss at home against Kolkata Knight Riders in the last game. With 15 points in 13 games, they are currently positioned second in the points table but are yet to confirm their play-off berth since a loss can make their qualification difficult, depending on various results.
CSK all now need is a win to ensure a play-off berth and can possibly finish second, they can even qualify with a loss if one of RCB, MI and LSG lose their last game. Delhi Capitals will be heading into the game after playing a spoilsport against PBKS and have complicated the PBKS qualification process. DC are in a state where they have nothing to lose and this would make them play freely, they might even look to repeat the last game heroics against CSK.
For CSK, Devon Conway has been the go-to batter as he has so far aggregated 498 in 12 innings at an average of 49.80 while Ruturaj Gaikwad has scored 425 runs at an average of 38.64. In the bowling department, Tushar Deshpande holds the key with 19 wickets whereas Ravindra Jadeja and Matheesha Pathirana have managed to pick 16 and 13 wickets, respectively. CSK would look to end the league stage with a win and claim the second spot.
For DC, David Warner is their go-to batter as he has so far aggregated 430 runs in 13 games while Axar Patel has scored 268 runs at a strike rate of 137.43. In the bowling department, Mitchell Marsh has picked 12 wickets, the most for DC, while Axar Patel has picked 11 wickets. Kuldeep Yadav and Ishat Sharma have managed to pick 10 wickets each. Delhi would look to spoil the CSK’s play-offs dream and finish the tournament on a high.
In as many as 28 games played between the two teams, CSK has dominated the contest with 18 wins and rest 10 games has been won by DC.
