Match 26 of the 2022 T20 World Cup brings England together with Australia at the Melbourne Cricket Ground on Friday evening. England have won one and lost one game in the tournament so far. Australia lost their opening game to New Zealand but bear Sri Lanka on Tuesday. England will be determined to put in a strong performance after their embarrassing defeat to Ireland on Wednesday. They have an excellent recent record over Australia and will fancy their chances in this match. Australia were not at their best against Sri Lanka but, thanks to some big hitting from Glenn Maxwell and Marcus Stoinis, got home with 3.3 overs to spare. In front of a big home crowd, they will be confident against England.

There is assistance in the pitch for pace bowlers and, with long boundaries, batters can often get caught out when going for big shots. We expect a par score of over 170. It will be cloudy from start to finish in Melbourne for this game and there will be a chance of rain arriving at some point.
