Match 20 of the 2022 T20 World Cup sees England take on Ireland in Group 1 on Wednesday afternoon at the Melbourne Cricket Ground. England began their campaign with a five-wicket win over Afghanistan on Saturday. Ireland finished second in Pool B to reach the second round but were well beaten by Sri Lanka on Sunday. England are on an excellent run of form and look even stronger with the bat now Liam Livingstone is back in the side. They will be very confident of beating Ireland in this match. Ireland lost their last game by nine wickets against Sri Lanka but beat West Indies by the same margin in their previous fixture. This will be a very tough game against England for the Irish.

England look like they are operating not far away from their top level over recent months and both their bowling and batting attack should be too strong for Ireland. Whenever England take on Ireland in a cricket game, there is always plenty of interest with any neutrals firmly supporting Ireland. The underdogs beat England in an ODI World Cup fixture in 2011 in India but their batting line-up is not as strong nowadays. We are predicting an entertaining game with England getting the win. Considering the team combination, England is expected to win this match.
