A dry and worn Sydney pitch gives Australia some hope as Sri Lanka are likely to be at their strongest here. England has won the last seven encounters between both sides. Sri Lanka though has grown in the last few months. The bowling depth is improving, and despite being eliminated they have a lot riding on this match. A win for them allows Australia to go through, leaving Sri Lanka with a huge task of beating England too help the Australians.

To England’s fortune, the weather in Sydney is good with no rain due during the match.
The Sydney track is dry and worn. Spin will play a factor and batting first may be a better option.

Injuries and poor batting is threatening Sri Lanka badly. They started poorly in the Asia Cup too, but a turnaround assisted by Dasun Shanaka helped them grow into the tournament. Now, they need him to step up with both bat and ball again. His bowling in particular may have a role to play as Sri Lanka continue to struggle with injuries.
Liam Livingstone’s ability is tough to question. Livingstone though is yet to light up the tournament, with a strong Livingstone style performance. With a must-win game ahead, he has a strong chance to apply a lot of pressure with some good numbers.

Sri Lanka last beat England in a T20 back in 2014. When it comes to tournaments though, the scenario is normally different. Sri Lanka however will have to dream big if they are to beat England, who are favorites.
