After Bangladesh lost the ODI series but won their first ODI against New Zealand in New Zealand on Saturday, the two teams will begin their T20I series on Wednesday evening. The hosts won their most recent T20I against England in September, and Bangladesh also won their most recent match in this format. New Zealand will be eager to follow up their ODI defeat with an immediate T20I victory at the same venue. With some of their top international players returning, they should have enough quality to take the series lead. Bangladesh were not expected to win the final ODI, but they did so with ease thanks to some brilliant bowling and controlled batting. This is a new series and format, but the team will have gained much-needed confidence.

On Saturday, New Zealand made the pitch at McLean Park appear to be a bowler’s paradise, but the truth is that there is something for the bowler, but the pace and bounce are good for batting. A par score will be 160 or higher.
There may be some rain in Napier earlier in the day, but the forecast for Wednesday evening is cloudy and humid, with dry weather throughout.

After Bangladesh’s surprise victory in the final ODI, there may be a little more interest in the first game of the T20I series than there would have been otherwise. Those expecting Bangladesh to go on a winning streak in New Zealand, on the other hand, are likely to be disappointed. The Black Caps often bounce back quickly after a loss in all formats, and with some key players returning, they will be a difficult team to play against. Considering the team combination, New Zealand is expected to win this match.
