Match 8 of the 2022-23 Big Bash League sees Hobart Hurricanes(HBH) and Perth Scorchers(PRS) go head to head on Monday evening at the University of Tasmania Stadium, Launceston. The Hurricanes lost their first match to Melbourne Stars by 38 runs. Perth Scorchers beat Sydney Sixers by the same margin in their opening fixture. Hobart Hurricanes have experience of playing on this pitch which can be different to others across Australia. Their top players will want to put in stronger performances than on Friday and they will be confident ahead of this match. With a new but experienced opening partnership, Perth Scorchers have a different look in this year’s tournament. However, their bowling attack is full of familiar and talented names who will be hard to face in this game.

It is a slowish pitch in Tasmania with spin bowlers having taken the most wickets at this venue in previous BBL seasons. We expect a par score of around 160. We are not expecting any rain on Monday evening although there will be some cloud cover during the match. The temperature will be no higher than 15 degrees across this fixture.
No Injury. Will be added when there is an update

This game’s key contest will be the top order batting talent of Hobart Hurricanes against the impressive bowling line-up of Perth Scorchers. We expect the Hurricans’ batters to come out on top. This should be an excellent contest in Launceston with the Hurricanes keen to get their first win of the season and Perth Scorchers arriving with their confidence high after an opening game victory. Both sides have good pace bowling attacks but we think spinner Shadab Khan will play a big role with the ball for the home team. We are predicting a close game with Hobart Hurricanes getting the victory. Considering the team combination, Hobart Hurricanes is expected to win this match.
