On Wednesday evening, the Melbourne Stars and Perth Scorchers face off in Match 7 of the 2023 Big Bash League at the Melbourne Cricket Ground. The Stars were defeated by the Brisbane Heat by 103 runs in their first game of the tournament. The Perth Scorchers’ first game against the Melbourne Renegades was called off after 6.5 overs. The Melbourne Stars finished last year at the bottom of the table. A defeat by more than 100 runs in their first game of the season will not instill much confidence. Their bowlers, on the other hand, will have had a relaxing evening without having to bowl.
