They are both on track to reach the final again with the Sixers in second place and the Scorchers top of the table. Sydney Sixers have recovered from losing their first two games of this tournament to be in contention at the top of the table. Up until now, Perth Scorchers are the best side in BBL12 and they will be very tough opponents. Perth Scorchers have lost only two games all season and have won their last three games by seven, eight and nine wickets. They are in fantastic form and have match-winners across their side.

Although Perth Scorchers have a very good record over Sydney Sixers, there is not a great deal of difference between the two strong teams. The Scorchers have a winning mentality which has served them very well again this season. This game is more than top versus second in BBL12, it is another showdown between the two strongest teams over the last three years of the competition. With Steve Smith returning to the Sixers and Sean Abbott in top form, they are going to be very hard to stop. Considering the team combination, Sydney Sixers is expected to win this match.
