The Caribbean's most anticipated league, the CPL, returned yesterday with a last ball thriller. The St Kitts and Nevis Patriots won the final ball thriller against the Antigua and Barbados Falcons by one wicket. Their next game will be against last year's finalists, the Trinbago Knight Riders. The third game of the year will be played at Warner Park in Basseterre, St Kitts, beginning at 4:30 a.m. on September 1st. The St Kitts and Nevis Patriots took on the Antigua and Barbados Falcons in the first game of the CPL 2024 at Sir Vivian Richards Stadium in North Sound, Antigua. SKNP bowled first and restricted the Falcons to 163 runs for their loss of four wickets. Ashmead Ned, Tabrez Shamsi, and Anrich Nortje all took one wicket each. Kyle Myers' 39 off 24 balls kept the fight alive for SKNP, who needed 53 runs in the final 38 balls. The tail-enders subsequently scored the necessary 7 runs in the game's final over to get their season off to a winning start.

As the pitch has flattened and the outfield has gotten faster, we've seen a lot of high-scoring games in recent years. Fast bowlers have performed well at the venue, and spinners have also found their turn and bounce.
The skies over Antigua will be slightly cloudy. The wicket performed admirably in the first game, but was slow, and batsmen struggled to time the ball.

Trinbago Knight Riders are going to be under pressure following losing their first game. The batting lineup appeared rusty, and the team needs stronger partnerships to put pressure on the champions who are defending their title. The St Kitts and Nevis Patriots have a deep bowling attack as well as a strong top order. The Warriors will have an advantage due to their batting strength. Considering the team combination, St Kitts and Nevis Patriots is expected to win this match.
