Sydney Sixers take on Melbourne Renegades in Match 18 of the 2022-23 Big Bash League on Wednesday evening in Sydney. The Sixers have won their last two games and beat Melbourne Stars by seven wickets on Boxing Day. The Renegades were beaten for the first time this year by Brisbane Heat on Christmas Eve. Sydney Sixers saw their poor form from the back end of the 2021-22 BBL join up with defeats at the start of this competition. However, the wins are now coming and they will fancy their chances of adding another in this match. Melbourne Renegades have seen some player turnover over the last couple of games with Martin Guptill and David Moody joining the squad. The players must get up to speed immediately or their team will suffer.

Before the start of this season, most commentators would have expected Sydney SIxers to have no problems against Melbourne Renegades. But it was the Renegades who had a great start to the season with the Sixers losing successive games. Melbourne Renegades have not beaten Sydney Sixers since the 2017-18 BBL Semi-Final. Right now, the Sixers have found their form and their players are very comfortable playing at the SCG. We are predicting a victory for Sydney Sixers in this match. Considering the team combination, Sydney Sixers is expected to win this match.
