Kohli has proven himself to be an entertainer. There is no shortage of fun to be had when Kohli is fielding, even if most of the attention is on him when he is batting. In addition to generating many hilarious memes on social media, Kohli’s bumbling interactions and reactions are always a delight to watch. It is likely that Kohli is the first to evoke a plethora of reactions from fans, after Tendulkar and Dhoni.

Kohli cannot be prevented from playing. His mannerisms keep onlookers interested when he’s not out on the field. The stump mic caught Kohli using an iconic catchphrase from former WWE star The Rock on Day 3 of the first Test between India and South Africa in Centurion. After twisting his ankle, Indian pacer Jasprit Bumrah was forced to leave the field. Bumrah returned to play for India after receiving treatment. Given how nasty the ankle twist looked, Indian fans would have loved to see him return. It was evident in Kohli’s words that the excitement he felt at seeing Bumrah return was on another level. The stump microphone picked up Kohli saying, “Finally, the rock has returned.” The video of Kohli repeating the catchphrase has not been found, however, the tweet caused quite a stir on Twitter.

‘Finally, the rock has come back’ is a famous catchphrase used by Hollywood star Johnson during his time as The Rock in the WWE. On every show, the Rock would begin his segment by saying the above popular dialogue followed by the city he was in. According to Kohli, the catchphrase became synonymous with The Rock.
