We are just a few months away from the IPL 2022 mega auction. The 10 IPL franchises will be able to rebuild their squads almost from scratch as all 590 players are up for grabs. Several teams have retained a few of their previous players, while others have to put up an entirely new team. Either way, both will face a daunting task. With ten teams this time, making the top four in the Playoffs over the other six becomes even more challenging.

The eyes of every franchise will be fixed on the players they have on their radar, and their backups. A 23-year-old player who has represented India in three One Day Internationals and five Twenty20 Internationals is among them. This cricketer, says Harbhajan Singh, will be one of the most sought-after players at the auction for a number of reasons. Dinesh Karthik, a veteran Indian wicketkeeper, has praised Ishan’s skills. The Jharkhand captain has played fewer international matches than he would have liked, but he is only 23 and has a lot more to offer. Karthik was impressed by Ishan’s talent, stressing a quality that not many batters of today possess.

“He is extremely talented. That’s a skill not all players possess. Nowadays, players attack a lot from ball one. In multi-nation tournaments, teams that have succeeded at doing that consistently have excelled. Ishan, therefore, stands to gain some traction,” Karthik stated during a recent interaction with the media.
