The Brisbane Heat(HEA) will take on Melbourne Renegades(REN) in the 3rd match of the Big Bash League 2022-23. The Sixers have dominated the Strikers in the past but this is a new season and Adelaide will not be easy to beat at home. The Brisbane Heat showed a lot of promise in the last season of the BBL by reaching the finals. They were beaten by the Melbourne Renegades in the Challenger and will be hoping to go one step further this time. The Melbourne Renegades have been in fine form in recent years. They won the 2019-20 and 2020-21 editions and ended up as the runners-up of the last season. The Sixers are easily one of the strongest teams in the competition.
Brisbane Heat vs Melbourne Renegades – 3rd Match
Venue: Cazalys Stadium – Cairns
Date & Time: 15th December at 01:45 PM IST
Live Streaming: Star Sports Network
This will be the first time that a BBL match has taken place at the Cazalys Stadium. It is typically a slower wicket with the ball gripping for spinners and cutters. It will be hot and humid across this game in Cairns with the temperature in the high 20s from start to finish. There is a slight chance of a thunderstorm in the second half of the match.
No Injury. Will be added when there is an update

Brisbane Heat have had more of a turnover of players than Melbourne Renegades but we think that will be to their advantage after both teams were so poor across the 2021-22 tournament. After last year, both teams would happily take a season where they are challenging for a play-off place as opposed to fighting it out at the bottom of the table. On a small ground which is expected to deliver high scores, we expect an entertaining contest but are backing the younger batting line-up at Brisbane Heat to produce more runs. Considering the team combination, Brisbane Heat is expected to win this match.
