The only Indian selected for the ICC Men’s Test team in 2022 is wicketkeeper-batsman Rishabh Pant, who is recovering from injuries sustained in a serious car crash in December 2022.
With the bat, the 25-year-old had a fantastic year, scoring 680 runs in 12 innings at an average of 61.81 and a strike rate of 90.90. He had four fifties and two centuries during the year.
In 2022, he played in Tests and hit 21 sixes. He also did well with the gloves, getting six stumpings and taking 23 catches.
Ben Stokes, the England captain, has been named captain of the Test XI, which also includes teammates Jonny Bairstow and James Anderson. Stokes’s aggressive style of cricket transformed the team.
There are four Australians in the ICC Test XI, including captain Pat Cummins and South African star Kagiso Rabada and Anderson.
The lineup is completed by Pakistan captain Babar Azam and West Indies captain Kraigg Brathwaite.
Only middle-order batsman Shreyas Iyer and young pacer Mohammed Siraj from India were selected for the Pakistani captain Babar Azam’s ICC ODI Team of 2022.
Iyer served as an anchor in India’s star-studded batting lineup during a successful 2022 season.
Iyer played 17 games during the calendar year, mostly at No. 4, and scored 724 runs at an average of 55.69.
In order to solidify his place in India’s ODI lineup ahead of the World Cup in October and November, he scored his runs at a brisk pace of 91.52, which included one century and six fifties.
In the absence of an injured Jasprit Bumrah, Siraj was one of the most improved white-ball bowlers and took the most wickets for the Men in Blue, taking 24 in 15 ODIs.
His best figures were 3/29, with an economy of 4.62 and an average of 23.50 for his wickets.
