Group 2 of the Super 12 stage of the 2022 T20 World Cup gets underway as India and Pakistan go head to head at the Melbourne Cricket Ground on Sunday evening. India finished third in Group 2 in the 2021 T20 World Cup with Pakistan topping the group but knocked out at the semi-final stage. India have incredible depth in this format and have beaten South Africa and Australia in their last two IT20 series. They will need to be at their best in this game but will be confident of getting the win. Pakistan reached the final of the 2022 Asia Cup but then lost the seven-match series against England. However, they then beat New Zealand and Bangladesh to win the tri-nation series. India will need to be very wary of Pakistan.
India vs Pakistan – 16th Match

The Melbourne Cricket Ground often provides an excellent contest between bat and ball. We expect a par score to be no higher than 175. It will be humid from the start of this fixture in Melbourne with cloud cover throughout. There could be a rain shower towards the end of the fixture.
No Injury. Will be added when there is an update

Pakistan’s over-reliance on the opening pair of Babar Azam and Mohammad Rizwan is well documented. However, with Shaheen Shah Afridi back and bowling to a high standard, they should never be written off. Whenever these two countries meet you are guaranteed an entertaining and pressure-filled game. With this being their opening match of this competition, this should be no different and we are predicting a close contest. Overall we are backing India to get the victory. Considering the team combination, India is expected to win this match.
