After encountering a green track for the first game, India and South Africa are in Guwahati for what is their penultimate chance to set their teams up before the World Cup. From South Africa’s point of view, the batting struggled, but that is likely to be a one time concern considering the nature of the track. The bowling was pretty good though as they gave a decent fight.
For India, Suryakumar Yadav’s form and Arshdeep Singh’s ability with the new ball are encouraging factors. With Bumrah in doubt, India are in the need of strong replacements, and Deepak Chahar along with Singh are looking the part.

The weather at Guwahati is clear and and very hot for the upcoming game.
The Guwahati track is expected to be flat and good for the batters. With dew around, batting second is a better option.
Rohit Sharma, KL Rahul, Virat Kohli, Suryakumar Yadav, Rishabh Pant, Dinesh Karthik, Deepak Hooda/ Axar Patel, Ravichandran Ashwin/ Yuzvendra Chahal, Bhuvneshwar Kumar, Harshal Patel, Mohammad Shami
Quinton De Kock, Temba Bavuma, Aiden Markaram, Rilee Roussow, Tristin Stubbs, David Miller, Dwaine Pretorious/Keshav Maharaj, Lungi Ngidi, Anrich Nortje, Kagiso Rabada, Tabraiz Shamsi
With Bumrah’s participation in the World Cup unlikely, a lot of responsibility is going to fall on the young Arshdeep Singh. While Arshdeep Singh proved his ability as a new-ball former, it his left-arm angle and ability to execute yorkers at the death that India will be desperately depending on. He is very economical in the death and the upcoming games will be very crucial as he prepares to play a central role for India in the death overs.
Tabraiz Shamsi is one of the best leg-spinners in the World now but has still not cracked the code against India in India. His record is not the greatest and he will be hoping to rectify his numbers as Shamsi proves his ability in India.

India are looking pretty settled with their batting. Suryakumar Yadav is providing the much needed impetus, while Rishabh Pant may get some more time out in the middle. South Africa’s batting struggled in the first game, but they are likely to come back strong. They have a good bowling attack as well. Despite a poor result in game one, they should back themselves to level the series.
