A run-fest and a century from Virat Kohli and a fighting century from Dasun Shanaka were the highlights of the first ODI. Sri Lanka though will feel they missed a chance on flat track. They dropped far too many catches and that is what affected them as India ended up with a lot more than they could have ended up with had Sri Lanka held on to their chances.
Date: January 12th 2023
Time: 1:30 PM IST
Venue: Eden Gardens, Kolkata
The Weather at Kolkata is fine but with the game being played in the evening dew will definitely be a concern.
A flat track is expected in Kolkata with a lot of runs on offer. A lot of dew is also expected in the second half and batting second could be a safer option.

With his raw pace, Umran Malik is winning hearts fast. He has found some control to go with his pace and could be groomed into a really interesting pacer, With the World Cup coming up, India could use him as the X-factor player and will hope he delivers in the opportunities he gets.
Dasun Shanaka is loving the Indian bowlers. His numbers against them are getting better and he will want to step up further in the ODIs. He did not bowl too much in the T20is but now in the longer format Dasun Shanaka may step up with the ball too adding to his value in the squad.
The Indian stars are back. They were there for the Bangladesh series too, and things did not go too well. Despite India bringing their main players in, Sri Lanka could back themselves going by the form of India’s top-order.
