The last league stage game is upon us. The fact that the last game of the tournament holds value with regards to qualification is enough to prove how competitive the tournament has been this time around. India are in the need of a win. A loss sees them go home, if Pakistan beat Bangladesh and leapfrog over them. A win takes them to first and helps them avoid New Zealand in the Semi-Finals.
Zimbabwe has fought well in the tournament but are on their way home. They still have a chance at qualifying but will have to hope South Africa’s game is washed out or they lose. The chances of them going through therefore is rather low with a lot of factors having to help them.
Played- 7 | India – 5 | Zimbabwe – 2 | No Result- 0 | Tie- 0
Date: November 6th 2022
Time: 12:30 PM IST
Venue: Melbourne
The weather is a concern with chances of rain in the forecast.
The Melbourne track is pretty helpful for fast bowlers with a lot of swing on offer. Batting first is a better option.
Rohit Sharma, KL Rahul, Virat Kohli, Suryakumar Yadav, Hardik Pandya, Dinesh Karthik, Axar Patel, Bhuvneshwar Kumar, Ravichandran Ashwin, Mohammad Shami, Arshdeep Singh
Regis Chakabva (wk), Craig Ervine (c), Wesley Madhevere, Sean Williams, Sikandar Raza, Milton Shumba, Ryan Burl, Tony Munyonga, Richard Ngarava, Tendai Chatara, Blessing Muzarabani
Suryakumar Yadav is proving his worth strongly with quick cameos. He is proving to be India’s most flexible player and has done a really good job in the tournament so far. With a must-win game ahead, he will have a job on hand as he looks to ease the pressure on his side.
In the last few months, Sikandar Raza has been in some really good form. He is Zimbabwe’s best player at the moment and will be a big factor as Zimbabwe look to extend their run and fight for a semi finals spot.
