DC vs RR: Rajasthan Royals are in red hot form after a strong win against the Knight Riders. They are defying the trend of batting second to win, with four wins while batting first. A win here will allow them to threaten the top spot and with Buttler and Hetmyer going strong, RR has a batting line-up with enough depth to carry the side. The bowling is also looking good with the pace attack finding its rhythm nicely.

The spin bowlers are providing a strong support as well with Ashwin dong well to tie one end down nicely. Their other spinner though was a central in changing the previous game. With the game in balance , Yuzvendra Chahal took a hat-trick to clean the innings and move the game towards the Rajasthan Royals.

The Capitals are coming into this game severely hit by Covid. They will be without Tim Seifert and Mitchell Marsh while the others will have a huge covid cloud over their heads. Despite the off-field issues, the Delhi Capitals have a few things going right for them and David Warner’s form is a prime positive for the side.

Date: 22nd April 2022 IST

Venue: Wankhede Stadium, Mumbai

Weather Report

The weather is clear for the evening of the DC vs RR game.

Pitch Report

Wankhede is finally showing signs of wear as spin is making an appearance on the dry surface. The grass does help swing early on as well but with small boundaries, finding runs remains easy making batting second a better option. Furthermore, the presence of dew continues to be a question mark and to stay safe, batting second will be better in the DC vs RR game.

DC vs RR Predicted Playing XI

Team News

  • The Delhi Capitals are likely to go with the same eleven despite the Covid issues in the camp.
  • Rajasthan Royals will remain unchanged after a strong effort against Kolkata.

Key Players

Jos Buttler

Jos Buttler is in wonderful form with another century in the tournament. He has already hit two, has the orange cap, and looks like he can go on to make more centuries while consolidating his position as the orange cap holder in the tournament.

David Warner

Although he missed a few games, David Warner looks like a candidate who can threaten Jos Buttler for the orange cap. He has won the cap three times in the past and is showing some promising form with three 60s in three games. He is back to his best and is showing why he is one of the best batters in the IPL as he continues to extend his lead as the player with the most 50+ scores in the league. In the previous game in particular, David Warner was in dangerous form, making a joke of a small chase.

DC vs RR Match Tips

Both teams are coming in with strong wins but with Covid affecting Delhi’s preparation and likely to remain on the minds of the players, they will have to display some immense mental strength again. The Rajasthan Royals also have a versatile bowling attack which gives them a strong advantage against the Delhi Capitals.

Match Prediction: RR will win the match.
