MI Vs RR: Rajasthan Royals dominated and played like a team possessed against the Sunrisers Hyderabad. They crossed the 200 mark with ease, their entire top-order batted well and the bowling line-up gelled with each other nicely. Prashid Krishna was mean with the ball, Boult found movement and Chahal took wickets to dent the progress of the opposition. They have a balanced line-up, strong batting, and depth in the bowling and the first game has allowed them to announce themselves as series title contenders.
Mumbai Indian put up a good score against Delhi and looked solid with the ball. They took early wickets, Thampi and Ashwin looked good, but a bad day for Bumrah prevented Mumbai from getting a win they should have sealed with ease. Mumbai has a great record against most sides, but the Rajasthan Royals are one team that has spooked Mumbai in the past. Despite a bad number overall, Rajasthan does a fine job against Mumbai, pulling their socks up nicely when playing a strong team.

- Suryakumar Yadav is back and will slot in straightaway after recovering from his hairline fracture.
- Rajasthan Royals may consider putting Neesham in for Coulter-Nile as Coulter-Nile was expensive in the previous game.
Sanju Samson started the season well yet again providing his customary fifty for the season. He is known to struggle after his first fifty, and it will be interesting to see if he can convert his first game form and continue scoring runs in the next game as well.
The Kerala fast bowler was brilliant against the Capitals on his IPL comeback. After a strong season in 2017, Thampi finally gets a chance to play with a decent rope, and his skills were on display along with some strong pace. He stepped up with Bumrah out of rhythm and looks like a real wicket-taker for the Mumbai Indians.
