Few days after RCB’s exit from IPL 2023, Virat Kohli took to Twitter to share a genuine directive for RCB fans and allies. The former captain of RCB posted a few pictures from the team’s IPL 2023 campaign and wrote that the team failed to score the goal.
Virat Kohli’s dream of winning an IPL title was crushed yet again on Sunday (May 21) when, during Match No. 70 His IPL franchise, Royal Challengers Bangalore, lost to Gujarat Titans by six wickets. Despite scoring 197 runs and losing five wickets at their home stadium, M Chinnaswamy Stadium, RCB was unable to defend it.
However, Shubman Gill’s 104 not out from 52 balls eclipsed Virat’s 101 not out from 61 balls, and GT reached the required total in 19.1 overs with just four wickets lost.
Mumbai Indians became the fourth team to make the playoffs as a result of RCB’s defeat, and RCB finished the season ranked No. 6 in the table of IPL 2023 points. For RCB, captain Faf du Plessis (730 runs), Kohli (639 runs), and Glenn Maxwell (400 runs) terminated with the bat yet needed help from others. Only Mohammed Siraj, who took 19 wickets, was able to fight back in the bowling department.
This year, Virat set numerous batting records in the IPL. He was the first Indian to score 50 half-centuries, the first to score seven IPL centuries, and the first to score 7000 runs in the IPL. However, the wait for the first IPL title is still ongoing. Two days after RCB’s exit from IPL 2023, Virat took to Twitter to share a few pictures from RCB’s IPL 2023 mission and composed a sincere post.
“A season which had its moments but unfortunately we fell short of the goal. Disappointed but we must hold our heads high. To our loyal supporters, grateful for backing us every step of the way. A big thank you to the coaches, management and my teammates. We aim to be back stronger. @RCBTweets.”
The former RCB and India skipper captioned the photos.
Here’s the post:
Twitter fans were quick to show their love and support for the loved cricketer:
Virat made every effort to end RCB’s 15-year IPL title drought, but he was unsuccessful. He completed the season as the third-driving run-getter and scored six fifties and two centuries.
