Chennai Super Kings

Kyle Jamieson has struggled with injuries a lot over the last year or so. He was a pretty impressive buy as CSK literally stole him for base price. Jamieson though will not get a chance to don the yellow this season as Jamieson is confirmed to be out with a stress fracture to his back. South African pacer Sisanda Magala comes in for Jamieson. Mukesh Choudhary was an impressive performer last season. With CSK struggling and Deepak Chahar injured, Choudhary with his left-arm angle gave CSK something to look at for the future. The prospect of him bowling with Deepak Chahar sounded very promising. However, a back injury to Choudhary as well now leaves him out as Akash Singh takes his place.

Delhi Capitals

The Delhi Capitals were hit with one of the biggest tragedies likely in this IPL Season. Back in December, Rishabh Pant met with an accident, leaving Rishabh Pant with multiple injuries. He has missed and will be missing a lot of Cricket through this year, leaving Delhi without their captain and wicket-keeper. In his place they now have David Warner leading the side while Sarfaraz Khan or Phil Salt could take the gloves.

Kolkata Knight Riders

Like the Delhi Capitals, Kolkata Knight Riders are without their captain. Shreyas Iyer, who has also been bothered by injuries on a number of occasions in the past now misses out with a lower back injury. He is out for at least the first half of the tournament with Nitish Rana leading the side in his place.

Lucknow Super Giants

The Lucknow Super Giants like the Chennai Super Kings will be without a pace bowler who gave them a lot of happiness last season. Mohsin Khan, a key player for them in 2022, was integral in their run to the playoffs. His return seems unlikely at the moment with no time frame set up.

Mumbai Indians

Last season when Mumbai bought Jofra Archer mouths began watering imagining Archer and Bumrah bowl in tandem in 2023. Archer was set to miss the season in 2022 by then, and now, fans are made to wait longer as Bumrah misses out this season with a back injury that has been bothering him for quite sometime now.

Along with Bumrah, Mumbai will also be without Jhye Richardson, leaving them two pacers short. Richardson too is out for the entire season with a hamstring injury that is threatening to derail his Ashes hopes as well later this year.

Punjab Kings

Punjab Kings come in without two key English cricketers this IPL. Liam Livingstone, with a knee injury is out for at least the first game, leaving them without an explosive option in the middle-order. The other big blow is Jonny Bairstow, leaving the Kings looking for an opening partner for Shikhar Dhawan. Jonny Bairstow, who suffered a freak injury playing golf last year, missed the World Cup and the Pakistan tour in the interim, affecting him when he was in a really rich vein of form.

Rajasthan Royals

Pacers have been struggling with fitness and Prasidh Krishna is another pacer who is out of the tournament with a stress fracture. He was seen as a prospect for the World Cup squad, but his injury now makes his chances look doubtful, creating a lot of frustration for the young quick. Sandeep Sharma comes in for Prasidh Krishna.

Royal Challengers Bangalore

Bangalore start the IPL with three injury concerns. Josh Hazlewood, who is in really good T20 form misses out on the initial part of the season with an injury to his Achilles Tendon. Rajat Patidar, a key part of their middle-order misses out, giving Royal Challengers a pretty big setback. he is out for atleast the first half of the season with a heel injury. Another injury concern is Will Jacks, who is out, with a muscle injury which now keeps him waiting for his debut. So far, Will Jacks is the only player who has been replaced with Michael Bracewell bagging an IPL gig.
