For the creation of the new team, Sanjiv Goenka (RPSG Group) won the bid for a whooping INR 7090 crore. The RPSG proposal was almost 250% more than BCCI’s base price for the IPL franchise of INR 2000 Crores. Interestingly, Goenka Group has made a humongous bid for the new IPL 2022 team at INR 7,000 crores.
