KL Rahul, the Indian opener, is expected to assume the role of vice-captain for South Africa in the three-match series. The batter for the Karnataka state said he was delighted to have such a responsibility. As the vice-captain of the Indian team, I am delighted to take part in this event. The grey hair wouldn’t matter, proclaimed K.L. Rahul with great enthusiasm.
Rahul and Mayank first played together for India in Sydney back in 2019. The duo is preparing to take on the next cherry almost three years after the first one was picked. After Rahul was dropped from the squad in 2018, Mayank was given his Test debut against Australia. In addition, Rahul shared his experiences of working with Rahul Dravid and expressed how the legend helped in preparing the team for the tournament against South Africa. Having Dravid around has been invaluable. Quite a few matches were played here, and he scored quite a few runs too. His experiences can teach us a lot and help us become better people. His preparation also helps us succeed on test day. “I have heart-breaking memories of Boxing Day. My debut in Australia was not a positive experience. Again, I did not succeed. This was my last chance. My game is now more balanced. “I’ve changed drastically from when I made my debut in 2014 to now,” Rahul expressed.
The 29-year-old has played 40 matches and scored 2321 runs, including six centuries and 12 half-centuries while making his Test debut in 2014. As a vice-captain, Rahul will likely hold the position for a long time, according to the Indian Board. Hopefully, cricket lovers will be able to get a sense of how things develop and how cricket fans respond to KL Rahul as vice captain!
