Despite missing the second Test due to an upper back spasm, Virat Kohli had nets with the Indian team on Sunday at Newlands. On Saturday, the Indian team arrived in Cape Town, where the decider will be played. Reports indicate that Kohli did not suffer any discomfort. India’s chances of winning the third Test seem good. Having lost the first two Tests in Johannesburg, the Indian team is now training for its third and final match with hopes of claiming its first series win in the Rainbow Nation.

The series started off on a high note for India, who beat South Africa by 113 runs in the first Test at Centurion before losing the second Test by seven wickets at Johannesburg. Rahul Dravid, the head coach of the visitors, had said he was hopeful Kohli would return for the final game of the series. Rahul was elevated to the top spot as a result of Kohli’s absence due to an upper back spasm. “From every perspective, Kohli should be fine. He’s had a chance to practice a little bit, he’s had the chance to test it some,” stated Dravid in a virtual press conference. ‘It should be fine after a few net sessions in Cape Town. According to what I have heard and what I have discussed with him, he should be ready to play in four days, ” added Dravid.

In the Indian pace bowling department, Ishant Sharma is expected to replace Mohammed Siraj, who was injured in the second Test. With Dean Elgar’s unbeaten 96, South Africa leveled the series at 1-1 after the second Test.
