Pakistan fought hard and took the first ODI really close. Haris Rauf bowled a testing spell and it was a day for the fast bowlers with Mitchell Starc having a special day as well when he bowled. In the end it was Australia's fast bowlers taking them home with the bat in what was a testing time. The strategies though will have to change for the second game. With Adelaide known for shorter square boundaries, the short ball tactic employed by Pakistan will need some modification. There is some balance though in both line-ups and how they bring out performances will be something to watch.

Venue: Adelaide Oval, Adelaide
The weather is on the cooler side and there could be dew later on.
Adelaide is likely to be better for the batters with shorter square boundaries. The pitch is pretty fresh and should come onto the bat nicely as well. Batting second will be a better option.

Haris Rauf
Haris Rauf has had a challenging year. His spot has been in doubt but he has answered questions spectacularly in the previous game. While he was expensive, he was also among the wickets and looked very menacing with his pace. He was accurate, furious and a little more support from his fielder along with a little more discipline could have helped him take his side home.
Josh Inglis
Captaincy waits for Josh Inglis. He will be hoping the series is wrapped up in the next game though with a chunk of his players likely to leave ahead of the third ODI. With a depleted side under him for the final game, the upcoming game stands very important for him to ensure his stint as captain gets off to a good start.
Australia start favorites again but Pakistan will be eager for a fight of their own as well.
