Days after beating Australia, India’s preparation for the World Cup takes its final turn. They are now going to face South Africa, for the second time this year at home. In the earlier series in June, India managed to level the series under Rishabh Pant only for the Final game to be washed out. Now, both sides are coming in with stronger sides. India will be without Hardik Pandya, who is rested, while South Africa will not have Rassie Van Der Dussen, who is out with an injury. Barring those two, both players are nearly full-strength.
Played- 20 | India- 11 | South Africa- 8 | No Result- 1
Date: 28th September 2022
Time: 7:00 PM IST
Venue: Green Field International Stadium, Thiruvananthapuram
The weather at Thiruvananthapuram is pretty good for the game with some cloud cover and mild chances of rain.
The pitch may be a little dry and take some spin, while extra grass on the surface may also help with swing early on. Batting second though will be a better option.
Rohit Sharma, KL Rahul, Virat Kohli, Suryakumar Yadav, Rishabh Pant, Dinesh Karthik, Deepak Hooda/ Axar Patel, Ravichandran Ashwin/ Yuzvendra Chahal, Bhuvneshwar Kumar, Harshal Patel, Mohammad Shami
Quinton De Kock, Temba Bavuma, Aiden Markaram, Rilee Roussow, Tristin Stubbs, David Miller, Dwaine Pretorious/Keshav Maharaj, Lungi Ngidi, Anrich Nortje, Kagiso Rabada, Tabraiz Shamsi
Axar Patel is continuing to impress. He is in top form with some solid left-arm spin, bowling tight lines and making it really tough for batters. In the previous series against Australia, Axar Patel was the prime wicket-taker, and India will be hoping he continues his good form as they build for the World Cup.
Its very rare to see a National Teams white-ball captain go unsold in his nations T20 league. Temba Bavuma though has a very tough pill to swallow. He went unsold in South Africa’s new T20 leagues auction, and will really be hoping to prove his worth as he comes back from injury.

South Africa are doing very well in international cricket despite having a team with very few superstars. They are silently doing the job in limited-overs cricket and have also impressed against England recently. Although India are the hosts and are coming in with a series win in their last outing, they will have to be watchful against South Africa, who look very solid.
